Complicance Checks – Latest

This is the first of three short(ish) videos that get to the heart of the big HMRC changes now taking place in the area of Compliance Checks. Now Andrew Gotch (of TaxAction) knows his stuff and has worked as a consultant for HMRC.

But – in my view – Andrew overstates HMRC’s new powers. Here he calls them a ‘Doomsday Weapon’ and while there are dramatic changes – particularly in the area of penalties – it’s not really Doomsday as such.

Many of the new changes are also covered – in less dramatic terms – in the two eBooks we have which are in the shop here.

Oh, it’s all just audio, having said that I’ve taken Andrew’s notes and put them in the film, which makes them much easier to follow.
