HMRC help you fill out your online tax return

 In HMRC Investigation

Tuesday at 4pm GMT HMRC is holding an online webinar to help you file your tax return digitally.

They say they will show you:

  • how to register for Self Assessment Online
  • tailoring (personalising) your Tax Return so you only see the screens you need to how to complete your Self-employed pages
  • sending your completed Return online
  • There is also a chance to ask the presenter your own questions.

Something else worth noting NOW is that filing online for the first time takes more than just a day.

This means you simply can’t leave everything to the deadline date (31 January) as the registering process takes more than 24 hours to complete.
[fancy_box] If you fail to hit the deadline of 31 January, then you’ll be hit with an automatic penalty of £100 and saying, “But I didn’t know the registration process took time” will not be viewed as a valid excuse.
